UH=Unga Hörselskadade, or the Swedish Organization for Hard of Hearing Young People
The Swedish Organization for Hard of Hearing Young People, is a national Non Government Organization (NGO) for young people who are hard of hearing. Our members live everywhere in Sweden and therefore we're organised in clubs, locals or interest based ones. Both on national and local level, we strive for the right of our members to fully participate in the society and provides an opportunity for hard of hearing young people to meet their like.
The national board co-ordinate activities on the national level. The board is supported by an office (in Stockholm) with their own staff. But of course UH depends on the commitment from our members, either as board members or involved in any of our committees.
We are working close to the Swedish Organisation for Hard of Hearing People, www.hrf.se
We are also members of SHIA, the Swedish disability movements own aid-organisation. Visit their web page on www.shia.se.
